I have one like this.

Basically it is like an itty bitty sleeve that has some metal strips on the end. The strips go into the USB port so you can read the card.

Not sure why one needs 6 mins, but here is a movie that shows how to use it.

I don't get why they are referred to as 'card readers' rather than USB adapters.
