Flew BKK-LHR earlier this week and and after they emptied the last of the third bottle into my glass I jokingly said 'oh, need to open another now'. I could immediately see the pain on the FA's face before she said 'So sorry sir, we only have 3 bottles'. I expressed surprise at such a small number being loaded and she said they had six but three were for the return flight!.

She offered a glass from J, to which I said as long as it's Dom, fine. By this point I could see she was feeling awkward which was not her fault so I said fine a glass from J will do.

Now, this must either be a one off or a new directive from higher up as it certainly wasn't policy before, as I have been on numerous flights were we've gone through four, five and six bottles.
So you did it again ehh? Nah just kidding but I find it weired that the only other option then is J champers. Maybe no DP but something of similar or almost similar quality. IIRC the C champagne was nothing to write home about in late 2007 & early 2008. Not tried after that (I was in C of course ).

I mean in an F cabin with 8-10 pax that means like 2 glasses for each pax wihich is a normal standard consumption so 6 bottles seems okay but for each direction I would recon.
