Another option is to take the Path into the city then hop a cab up to 157th which will be much cheaper than taking a cab from NYC to NJ. that will run you at least $40 usually.

There are also very beautiful views of NYC from Jersey City and Hoboken and tons of restaurants and such. Plus you dont have to worry about traffic heading into and out of the city.
And keep in mind that the Courtyard JC is about 50 feet from the PATH station, with 24hr service in and out of Manhattan.
