Stayed at the Metropole in April. Enjoyed it very much, but it lacks much "charm."

The Executive Lounge is really great...especially enjoyed breakfast, where we were the only guests on 3 of our 5 mornings.

Since your reservation is for next Summer, you might want to check out the new Hilton London Paddington which is just down the street from the Metropole and right at Paddington Station. I would think this might be an ideal location for some, especially as you could walk right from your room to the Heathrow Express.
