They still have to load the plane at LCY and fly to Ireland, download the entire plane and all baggage at SNN, load the plane back up and fly to JFK and then download the plane all over again in New York. It just doesn't seem like they are saving any time or hassle.
With the very few passengers the time to offload in SNN clear and reload will be minimal. And I'm guessing that with the focus on business travelers it will be fewer checked bags than not. And the lines at SNN are almost guaranteed to be shorter than those at JFK.
Plus it means a non-stop back to LCY, too, which is an even bigger time saver.
