Thanks for the replies (and keep them coming).

BTW, I am not unhappy with Starwood (love those heavenly beds at the Westin and lack of blackout dates), but I need better geographic distribution than Starwood offers and my credit card offers automatic gold in SPG. Great suggestion about hitting gold for hilton; should be a snap.
