but well, one thing they COULD do is route those pax onto AF flights to elsewhere in India with a 9W / IT / IC connecting flight thrown in. Or route them on LH, BA etc. Or perhaps route them to a destination like SIN, DXB etc that's closer to India, where indian pax CAN get free 48-96 hour transit visas on arrival.

AF isnt anywhere as badly incompetent as GF is (having been misconnected at BAH both ways on a MAA-RUH flight, seen the attitude of the BAH ground staff working the "allocate hotels" desk, etc etc - curt to pax in J and downright rude to Y pax). But that's like comparing a shack from the slumdog millionaire set to a room at a cheap motel, service level wise.
