I could be wrong, but seem to recall that the same shuttle bus serves the Ibis and Novotel - the bus makes a loop and from the airport goes to the Ibis first, then the Novotel on the way back to the airport.

I really could be wrong about this.

Also, you could stay at the Ibis at Centraal Station in Amsterdam. It is right at the station, and trains go 4 times per hour and get you to the airport in 20 minutes or less. Given the train schedule, it is in some sense more convenient to the airport than the Ibis airport hotel. And you get to stay in Amsterdam.

I know it is 4 stars vs. 2 stars, but that is not too important to me - I stayed at etap AMS before, and that was fine too - fun free tv channels... but this time more expensive...
