Horrible experience with VAustralia - cancelled flight, no refund offered!
I booked a trip with VAustralia LAX-SYD-BNE-LAX with a planned stopover in SYD which I planned to call them up and arrange a couple weeks ago. Surprisingly VAustralia decided to completely cancel the LAX-SYD and put me on LAX-BNE without even telling me of the schedule change. Had i not called, I doubt they would have even bothered telling me about this schedule change and i would have likely missed my flight at LAX because they put me on LAX-BNE instead, which leaves 1 hr 15 mins earlier. My flight on UA from PSP allowed me about 3 hours to connect to my original planned LAX-SYD flight on VAustralia, but now with their change, it only affords me 1 hr and 15 mins, i'll likely completely miss the VAustralia flight. thanks for telling me VAustralia.
What is even more frustrating is how useless their call centre is, they said they can't offer me a refund even though im now been put out by their schedule change, they won't book me on a stopover, and this is inspite of 6 calls and calls to 'call them back'. They suggested I emailed guest relations, which i did 4 days ago, no response, trip is in a matter of days. So much for customer service and a good experience from australia's newest "international airline". I hope they go belly up, with this sorta service I don't even want to fly them.
I recognise they have the rules in their T&C's which says if it's on their ticket and i'm affected, fine, but come on, a major change like this that affects me so much at least as a new airline they could be a little nicer. But no, nothing. And their lack of response from customer relations is bad, but the thing that frustrates me the most, is that they NEVER told me about the schedule change until I called. Surely if the airline CANCELS your flight, don't they have an obligation even if out of common courtesy to let you know?? I guess VAustralia don't care passengers turning up to LAX, and missing their flights to SYD... because they cancelled the flight!
