I am sometimes content with knowing what I need to get things accomplished rather than all the deep technical jargon behind it.

For example, I am a Verizon Wireless ("VZW," by the way) customer. How many Verizon customers know that their phones operate on CDMA let alone that this stands for Code Division Multiple Access? How many care?

When I use my Orange France phone, I know it operates on GSM which means Global System for Mobile communications. So what?

For me, I just ask questions as I need to know the information because I am not in the cell business.
