hi, my apologies in advance if i'm asking this on the wrong board but i'm thinking this is where i'll find the most knowledgeable flyers for my specific qu.
mrs. soho and i have never been to india before and are flying into delhi airport on aa from ord, hopefully upgraded with evips, leaving on november 30th and arriving dec 1st at 9.35pm. we have a flight out of delhi to chennai on jet airways at 635 am on december 2nd ie 9 hour stopover at the airport and it seems that with all the delhi airport chaos it doesnt make sense for us to get into town and stay in a hotel that evening, so we figured we'd pop into a lounge, have a shower and a nap and a some breakfast and be on our way.
apparently there are 3 candidate oneworld lounges open 24 hours that we can use per EXP status (unless anyone knows any others):
--maurya lounge
--clipper lounge
--aoc welcome group sheraton 24 hours
so, pretty please, does anyone know the answer to any or all of the following questions:
--which if any of the above lounges can we use as ARRIVING AA EXP/business class/admirals club member passengers (jet airways is not part of oneworld so far as we know)?
--is the AA arrivals gate in the same building as the jet airways departure gate to chennai--and/or do we have to go through security again (we were planning on interlining our bags straight through and hoping to avoid what i understand to be a pretty awful departures experience!)?
--if they are in different buildings, are any of the above lounges in either the building we arrive in or the building we depart from
--which if any of them have shower facilities?
--which are the nicest (and/or totally horrible) bearing in mind a stay of several hours
or cutting through all of the above qu's does anyone have any advice for the best/least awful experience we could have?!
thanks so much!
