I had to pick someone up today at YQB. This person was flying on PD509 ex-YTZ. Scheduled arrival time was 1330, following a scheduled 1200 departure. Before leaving the office for the airport, I checked the flight status online and noted a 15 minute delay ex-YTZ. In the end, the flight arrived late at 1344.

I’m not at all familiar with PD and some of the posts in the “Rapidair” thread started by AY made comparisons between PD and AC. OTP was mentioned as an important issue for many of us. Also, that old myth that “AC cancels flights on purpose” reared its ugly head again….

That thread and my experience with the PD delay today led me to use this quiet, rainy evening to do some research on PD’s website using the flight status function. This is what I found for today 29MAY’s OTP for arrival times against scheduled departure times.:

Not scientific, just a snapshot, but seems like the racoon had some trouble getting off his island today , especially with the “rush hour” flights. I was surprised, nay shocked, to see cancellations and some not insignificant delays. I’m glad I was not a PD pax trying to get somewhere OT on this Friday afternoon.

I think I’ll stick with AC.
