By the way, which booking class were you in? When they first rolled out the online check in, I was able to do an online check in even when my fare doesn't allow advanced seats selection. But then they somehow changed that later on. Did they change it back to allow N fare to do online check in too? That would be nice since my upcoming outbound flight is in N class.

Yup, they allow N fares to select seats at the 72 hour point. I don't think my status had much to do with it, the impression I got from the agent on the phone was that everybody could select seats at that point.
