Without a new Kippie at the helm of the rudderless TSA ship, I doubt there will be a public statement -- certainly not one stating the system "broke down". If anything, they will deflect this into a "look how many underage college drinkers we have caught!" or some other statistic.

Nappy is too far above the TSA to make a statement. She can only lose by making one.

But, expect some rogue FSDs and screeners to start "clamping down" on their own. I'm not sure what "clamping down" means, but I'm sure they will come up with something.

A harassment campaign by us and others on PV will goad them into making some sort of nonsensical post about the incident; but, that's OK. (I'll betcha' they assert that Secure Flight would have prevented her from getting on the plane.)

What is noteworthy is that, of all the aspects MSNBC could have covered about this bizarre story, they chose to include how easily the woman made her way past the TSA's crack DI checking procedures. And, we can't forget that she also defeated the ever-vigilant army of SPOTNiks roaming America's airports.

...and I forgot the part about contriband cash.
