PBarnette, thanks for all the replies. It's bringing me peace of mind. I guess the next question is: Do you have any experience with interline bag checking by Delta? What is the likelihood of the bags reaching the destination with me, on the same flight? Is the process at JFK as smooth as it sounds? It seems like a recipe for disaster with two different itineraries and trying to get the bags checked through. I can imagine an agent at the ticket counter not having any clue as to how to tag the bags.
