Good guess, yes the Cannondales are from Backroads. BTW, they are much better then the Treks they sometimes use.
The point cost did seem high, but of the 225,000 points I would need for the bike, most of the points came from promos (United matching, 50K for four stays, etc). The number of nights needed to earn the 225,000 was probably 40. At $130/night average, I spent (oh I really should say,
my company paid) $5,200. On that basis a rebate in the form of a $1,000 bike doesn't seem too bad.
Am I rationalizing this way too much ?
