Manado cuisine outside of Indonesia

Greetings to your day,

While roosted in Jakarta for a few months last year, I found a brilliant, if quite spicy, alternative to my usual ketoprak, gado-gado and jus alpukat. The cuisine is Manado, from a Christian-Muslim city in northern Sulawesi, and it just so happens to pack quite a punch.

However, I long for cakalang pampis and the assorted vegetable and fish dishes from the region, and would like to know if anyone has encountered food or restaurants from this 'hood outside of Indonesia. If so, please do let me, and the rest of FT know! Indeed, it's a vague question, but since it's not the most common topic out there, nor a very well known cuisine, this thread can play a nice two-fold role.

(Oops, in case you are in Jakarta and know where the Inter-Continental MidPlaza lies - on Sudirman, a few Transjakarta bus stops south of Sarinah - a delicious yet modest food outlet is ripe for your perusal in the basement.)

Cheers,

TBS
