Have done that run a lot and I find the left (coastline) side more interesting than the inland side. I know you're terminating in SFO, but on the SFO-LAX run the right side is nice. On initial climb out of SFO you typically make a sweeping left 180 which gives spectacular views of the city, bay & bridges.
