Maybe not necessarily true with this pax, but especially with all the ridiculous US airline specials lately...3x ELITE miles for Y and B fares, 2x miles for other econ fares...it's really absurd. I waited 5 minutes behind an AA Explat at intown check-in who was insisting he could check his ridiculously oversized (and probably heavy) suitcase because he was AA Explat. They finally gave in. I was fortunate enough to catch view of his economy boarding pass as I was walking up to the counter.

I can see it now in 6-12 months, the Wing and Pier F sections full of AA Explats who spent a total of $8 on American Airlines last year but who get treated like royalty on CX. Kudos to AA for returning the favor to CX MPOs.
