Especially important on red eyes (sleeping in a 757 with minimal recline blows).....know con is joining star alliance, so could still use ual for transcon, but would rather centralize on one and have always like con/ewr and iah....thanks!!!
Just to clarify: For the past few years CO has been exclusively flying transcon with three types of plane:
1. 738 or 739: This plane has the standard domestic FC cabin with 38" seat pitch and generally 16-20 seats. Most of the EWR-LAX/SFO flights are operated with this a/c
2. 753: Also has a standard domestic FC cabin with 38" seat pitch, but there is a larger FC cabin with 24 seats, which should improve chances at an upgrade.
3. 752: This plane is equipped with Continental's BusinessFirst cabin, has 55" seat pitch with recliner seats and foot rests. More and more rare on transcon and rumored to be phased out in favor of the 739.
All of these planes will have the same trasnscon meal service.
