Slight correction: this building is NOT a new opera house - as can be gleaned by the hotel name that both previous posters have posted, this is the new Philharmonie (Philharmonic Concert Hall). It is located on the banks of the Elbe River in the HafenCity area.

The Staatsoper will remain in the present building on Dammtorstrasse.

The Philharmonie is designed by the renowned Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron, whose buildings include the Beijing National Olympic Stadium (Bird's Nest), the Tate Moden in London and the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
