When I checked in for my flight that I took yesterday, I was offered to buy an upgrade--that puzzled me because as a 1K I was already on the upgrade list and certainly that would have meant my UG should have cleared; right?

How often is UAL trying to sell UG's instead of processing them for FT's?

Details: paid fare, LAX>SFO, listed two months ago for 500mile cert upgrade.
