There is a dry ice shelf right at the top edge of all bar trolleys ... for this reason, white wines and champagne are generally stored at the top, closest to the dry ice, and beer and any sparkling wine in the next drawer down.
I have very rarely served beer on board that wasn't slightly chilled due to the above, so perhaps for some unknown reason, there was no dry ice in that particular bar trolley?
Either way feel free to ask the crew to fetch some chilled beer from another trolley. All longhaul aircraft come fitted with small chillers, but those are usually used for wines and champagne.
