I stayed there about a month ago when visiting our New Oleans office located in the FQ. Great location, convenient to the Wharehouse District, the Business District and the French Quarter, all within walking distance. Also right next to Harrah's, if you plan to do some gambling.

Aside from that, so-so as far a Doubletrees. Kind of run down, but the rooms were neat. Staff friendly.

As a HH Gold, no upgrade given until asked, no free breakfast either. I would recommend either of the W's, or if you want to stay at a Hilton, try the Embassy Suites, which is fantastic, although a little further from the Quarter. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say a 6.5.

P.S. Don't waste your money on the convenience food location downstairs, the bagels were expensive and stale.
