sad to say the opposite hotel in beijing was a HUGE disappointment....it tries too hard in ever way ....design wise is uncomfortable and way too dark at night - rooms corridors ...and if i can remember correctly the lobby too. its bad old days of ian schrager hotels with a touch of W and a big dose of the stark and minimalist calvin klein [ now defunct] style type shops.....that and the dead restaurants .....could not be bother with the "happening " bar

and the poorly trained staff ........the swire hotels need attention ....and quickly

but i do forward to their pacific place hong kong property ,.....hope that would fair better than the opposite house which just tries too much.

its in the san litun area in a place called the Village...its just poorly designed and planned ...........oonly good thing going for it is the uniqlo shop

and i was so looking forward to it too ...........!!!!

the Japanese architect who did it ....did a really top notch bad job
