Please excuse my significant ignorance here, after reading through the Qantas website I am still struggling to understand the basic concepts when it comes to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.
I thought I should ask my questions here as the web forum is a little more receptive then an email to Qantas.

Some questions I have:

*Given that I am not a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, however I have a sibling who is - can I use their card to collect points? ie. For hotel bookings etc. even though my name is not on the card?

*Is it possible to make a family account?
Ie. Family members have their own card, however the points earned go into the one account?

*How are points earned by booking flights and what are ‘Awards’ flights?

*Can I use my existing points to book a flight which also rewards points?
