I don't understand why folks would park anywhere else at LAX. I would never park at ParkOne (unless going on a very short trip wtih WN @ Terminal 1 and I am running late), because your car is exposed to the jet exhaust and the sun beats down on your car. Also, the Park One price verges on extortion.</font>
Well, if using Terminal 1, ParkOne means you've got a 3 to 4 minute walk (no wait time!) from a typical space to the right of where you pull in off of Century, and the same going back. That's probably less than the walk to the entrance to terminal 1 from the far gates!

I don't know anything about The Parking Spot, but with most private lot shuttles at many (if not all) hours you have to call from the terminal to get the shuttle to come to you, then of course the shuttle has to meander the loop. (Or with the public lot shuttles, you never know long your wait for the right one is going to be, how overcrowded it will be, and again it has to meander the loop.) Being able to simply walk to your car in 4 minutes is an unbelievable joy compared to all that (tho 4 minutes obviously only applies from terminal 1).

On rates, if you're a Rapid Reward member you get a 20% discount, or the coupons give you 1 day off with a minimum 3 day park, and in some cases (a 3-day trip) this works out VERY competitive with other lots much further away.

Plus I've never encountered a "sold out" at ParkOne, even on Thanskgiving, whereas I've had unpredicable problems on peak days at many other places, and nearly missed planes simply because the first lot I tried didn't have spaces available.

Also, I want to pay with Diners Club, and mighty few parking places other than ParkOne seem to accept that.

Finally, my car is under the sun if I leave it at home too, and it's under the sun all day at work normally, so I don't see much difference. And since I save $$$$ (or is that $$$$$?) by always buying used cars, it's not SO big a deal to have the car get a little dirtier. (And in my experience the grime is actually less at Park One than in city lot B for whatever reason.)
