The 3 main "first chair" announcers are Johnson, Mihara and Hiro Morita, all of whom do a pretty good job. The problems lie with the "second chair" color commentators. The best broadcasts are early in the basho when none of the color people show up and the real announcers fly solo. During the last week, we tend to get Mark "The Lisp" Shilling, Clyde "Bored Almost to the Point of Narcolepsy" Newton and David "Interrupt at Every Opportunity and Stutter" Shapiro - all of whom really stink up any broadcast they work. Doreen Simmons occasionally pops up for a nice change but the rest of that list seem to be out of the business.
