That's exactly how I'd approach it. An hour extra sleep at home sounds great. 4 hours extra sleep sitting in a chair in a gate area at ATL waiting for the next flight because you missed a connection? Not so great...
Personally, I would enjoy the extra hour of sleep.

I had two hours in ATL the other day and I was bored off my rear. If (and yes, if) everything is on time (and in many cases, early), then even an hour shouldn't make one feel rushed, worry about missing a flight, or being out of breath.
