I'm reasonably sure anyone who I ask to swap my FC seat with will appreciate my generosity, Elite or not. And it's much more likely that I'll get the pleasure of a sincere "Thank you!" from the displaced passenger than a show of gratitude by any Elite should I elect to follow your "rules" instead.
It is not “our” rules, it's just common courtesy. If you are going to just give your upgrade to a random person, why don’t you take yourself off the list by selection the “elite upgrade off” toggle in your reservation or speak with the GA and inform them to reseat you in the main cabin?
