2 is not a typo, they have changed the name of the '82' vaporetto back to '2' as it seems less confusing for tourists.
There are many parking garages in Pla. Roma that are just a few minutes walking distance from both the 1 and 2 vaporetto stops. They are not cheap and the daily rate is at least 20 euros, but they seem fairly safe. On peak summer days they tend to fill up, and you may be able to reserve a space in advance. You can also park in Tronchetto and board the vaporetto but I'm not sure if the rates are any cheaper.
From Pla. Roma the 1 is a slightly farther walk down the fondamenta and takes much longer. If you are staying near Santo Stefano/San Samuele your best bet is to take the 2 to San Samuele (better if you have luggage) or Accademia (just cross the bridge to get back on the right side). Sant'Angelo is a bit more of a hike with bags, especially if you don't know the shortest route. The back calle of that area are a little confusing, perhaps ask the hotel if they could send someone to greet you at the vaporetto stop?
