It depends on the location, if HI is located next to the highway of nowhere, probably not as good.

HI basically target Marriott's Fairfield Inn, and better than Super 8, Motel 6 and Comfort Inn.

HGI target ING's Holiday Inn Express, Starwood's Four Points, Choice's Comfort Suites.

DT and Hilton may target the same client, but most DT are lack of the facilities of Hilton like exec.floor and exec.lounge. And usually when DT is in the area, you don't see Hilton is closeby except several locations. So DT sometimes fill in the gap when the area lack of 4 stars property in the Hilton group.
