There actually is a Hampton in dowtown Dallas. I believe that the property had another name in a former life, but I'm not sure which. It's quite different from other Hamptons because it's a high-rise (about 14 stories) and you have to pay for parking.

I tend to like the idea that Hiltons and even Doubletrees are often cheaper or the same rate as a Hampton. I work for a non-profit so I'm always looking for a decent property at the best rate. Much better to stay in a Doubletree or Hilton as a Gold than Hampton.
