After cruising "thru" the Antarctic earlier this year, we are looking forward to being so "close" to the Arctic. Finally, those polar bear questions we have been receiving, will apply!
Speaking of polar bears...what color do you think they are? Their skin is black (same as a Zebra. They often appear white as the hollow hair, while pigment free, scatters and reflects visiable light. In captivity they sometimes take on a green cast, as algae gets into their hollow hair. In the wild they can take on a yellowish cast due to the oil from their prey. If we see some, I will definitely be checking out the color. I seen some on TV that have a lot of red color...but then we know what that is.
