Why get a fake ID? The 9/11 hijackers used their real names and bought round trip tickets (because they were cheaper) with a credit card, also under their real names.
This requirement will probably only slightly reduce the number of erroneous mismatches, such as Sen. Edward Kennedy or the young children on the no fly list. All this security stuff is B.S. If we went back to the pre-9/11 security screening, we would probably be just as safe. There have been no studies of the effectiveness of the new screening procedures.
I miss the late 1970s even more, before deregulation ruined air travel for all of us.
