Wonderful! My kids are pretty excited about THAT now!!!! Daughter was sad that we found out the two Cairns places require you to be 120cm or taller (no age restriction it seems) so I'll have to check Toranga. Either way, thanks a TON for the tip - we'll try and get there near opening (not always the way our family works!) and go right over to sign up for Koala time!
I'll drop the second class wildlife places to my "maybe" list, and be sure to check out the Sunday travel pass. That might be the right day to do some general exploring and use as much travel as we can
Thanks so much for all the great help!!!!
One more related question: do taxis have carseats? I only ask because I was surprised some years back to find that London cabs have inbuilt booster seats, which saved us having to bring our own. I started this adventure planning to rent a car, now I'm thinking of just renting one in Cairns, and maybe not even then. Catching that 7am Jetstar SYD-CNS flight will be unpleasant, so I'm wondering if a taxi to the airport might be the right answer - and if that will be the only thing making me bring the 5yo's booster seat along.
