Yesterday, I was in the security line at LAX for my 7:55am LAX-IAD departure and had the pleasure of a new (to me at least) twist.

As I was going through my motions of taking off my shoes, pulling out my bag of toilettries, laptop, etc. the TSA guy started loudly informing everyone of a new rule.

Apparantly now we also have to take out all of our spare shoes from our bags and run them separately. Also, he was very insistent that they MUST be placed directly onto the conveyor and not into the bin to get an accurate scan.

So, the line turned into semi chaos with a few hundred people unpacking their shoes from their carryons and running them on the belt separately.

Gee, I sure felt safe though as I flew home....
