Agreed that BA is definitely one of the airlines I'm always happy to travel from a safety point of view, not just for the pilots who are obviously top notch but also for the cabin crew (whose high standards were well demonstrated with the crash at LHR).

In general isn't membership of one of the 3 alliances an indicator of acceptable safety standards? I don't know much about KE but I recall that their safety record was subject to intense scrutiny when they were screened for eligibility to join SkyTeam. Apparently DL and AF were worried about being associated with an airline whose planes kept falling off the sky (and that's before they invited SU to join them). That's not to say I'd feel comfortable flying every airline in an alliance of course
