There's no need to blow off the entire chain because they are doing this, just check the box for the two room suite if that's what you want, 80%of the rooms (at least) will be the standard rooms.
While that may technically be true, the insidiousness of this move is this: Whereas now the standard suite we have become accustomed to is say $139 a night, this "new and improved" room will become the room at that price point, and the room we've come to enjoy will now be the "premium" offering at a higher price.

From Hilton's point of view, the best case scenario is they drive a lot of their ES clientele to Hampton. Worst case, to other chains.

What really upsets me is how I have not been able to land one of the jobs where you can get paid the no doubt obscene amounts of money that someone got paid to come up with incredibly stupid ideas like this one.
