I understand that turbulence might make aim a bit harder, SO SIT DOWN...I do not wear my shoes on a flight, and sometimes do not wear those nasty slippers or socks they provide...and it's gross how some people leave the toilet area. I have cleaned off the sink and counter area nearly every time I go in....some people are just born pigs!
Now as to ideas to get people not to put foreign objects in sink area. As cultures are different...make sink smaller? turn sink so it is flush with wall, with sensors for water to come out when hands are inserted? Make bacterial wipes available? Enlarge the garbage area?
Maybe not good ideas but all the same better then the mess I always walk into!
I agree with many of your observations, however based on what I've seen, it is never a good idea to not wear shoes onboard an aircraft.
