Even in years when I do only one GLONP2 stay and nothing else, I receive very good treatment on that stay. Good upgrades, free breakfast, lounge access (if applicable) and sometimes other perks (the occasional bar chit, etc.).
Regardless of whether or not they arbitrarily decide to call the property a "resort".
I'm not saying it's right or wrong: Marriott uses the approach that Gold and Platinum require at least some revenue nights. Even with 2x EQN promotions, you still need to do 18 real nights in the promo period before they hand you a Gold card. I'm just saying that there
are other chains out there that give great benefits to infrequent travelers.
