AA hasn't made the formal announcement of preboarding for families with small children for several years. When my kids were small, I usually didn't care about pre-boarding, since, in the old days, top-tier were invited to board with F (and we were usually in F or J).

Want to guarantee you get to board early? Attain status.

At JFK and LAX, I have sometimes seen celebs quietly invited to pre-board when they're traveling with small children.

Wait until last to disembark? Notta chance if I had a connection or it was late. Delays happen - and if I'd been delayed, I certainly wasn't going to compound it by waiting for the other 200 people to disembark. Only takes a second or two to unbuckle the car seats, grab the kids, grab the carryons and get off the plane (unless you're a bumbling doofus - and I see plenty of Type A business traveler Doofuses).
