Which Southern California airport is better - SNA or LAX? From SFO...

I normally fly ex-SFO with United Airlines. My wife and I are pondering a quick Southern Cal trip to either SNA or LAX. LAX totally sucks for UAL flyers; what about for VX flyers? VX flights are about half the fare than UAL, time-dependent.

I definitely enjoyed SNA so wonder if it's the logical choice... then again maybe VX is really good with LAX??

Silly question but as long as I'm here, I wondered if we book seats online or how the seating part works...

Lastly with the VX being 100% wifi (in comparison, I'm positive that UAL is 0% wifi), how much is the wifi? I assume I just bring my netbook on the plane and wifi away?? Or is it a bit more complicated?

Thanks,
Michael
