A couple of times my husband has met me and the kids somewhere for a weekend after flying in from somewhere else. I've always just told the front desk that he was coming in late, please leave the charge on his Marriott card. The desk has never asked me for ID, nor has he had to go to the desk when he arrived, so for all they know he was never there.
