Thinking about switching from Amex Starwood for top tier status Diamond with Hilton for just spending $40,000 a year on Amex Hilton Surpass card. I wish Starwood would at least compete and offer a similar Amex product. SPG Gold status is given out like candy and really not worth much to me .

Lurker please tell us your people at Starwood are aware of this Hilton Amex product and the top tier status they offer. Notice I just asked if they were aware since I do not want to start a firestorm discussion of those who stay and get status and those who pay and get status.
