Booked On Two Flights For Same Day?

Just logged into my itinerary on ba.com, and it looks like I am booked into two long haul flights at the same time on the same itinerary. The flights are this weekend.

I think this happened because a few weeks ago I called BA enquiring about changing my flight to an earlier one on the same day. The rep didn't know exact costs, but said the change fee is $X. He couldn't give me an answer immediately because the ticket was purchased through another airline. He told me that my request would be put into a priority queue and I'd be called back in a few days. I made it clear with him that I was not committing to the change at this stage, and I only wished to determine the availability and cost.

Well, BA never called me back so I forgot about the issue. I figured I'd turn up at the airport early and try my luck with getting on the earlier flight and not paying the change fee.

However, today when I checked it shows me as confirmed on both flights!

My intention as of yesterday was to just check in for my original flight, and turn up at the airport early in the day in the hope of getting on the first flight and not paying a change fee. I didn't really feel it would be worth paying $X to save a few hours of time.

What should I do? Should I just check in to the first flight and forget about it? Are BA likely to come after me for the change fee? Or should I just stick to my original plan?
