My wife and I had just recently finished a trip to Atlantic City and talk about one of the most overall impressive Japanese fusion restaurant I have ever been to: Izakaya at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. Inspired by celebrity chef Michael Schulson, the restaurant is more of a lounge, rather than a formal setting. Waitstaff was incredible, our particular waiter ran down all her favorites in brief but informative manner. Almost every part of the dinner was carefully presented, form the signature Spicy Tuna Cracker, to the Tuna Tartar, to the Kobe Beef. Even the sides and the cold dishes were carefully put together, it felt as if nothing was missed. At first I was hesitant about this restaurant, but my wife insisted. We spent almost $150 USD on dinner, and every dime was worth it. We will definitely be back
(On a side note: I find Japanese cuisine incredibly hard to pair with a wine, but the recommendation given to us by our waiter was spot on. It was so spot on that the first thing I did when I got home was to locate a wine cellar near by with the particular bottle and order myself a case!)
