Generally, normally planes go the south and land so the left side is better but views of Manhattan from JFK are usually not all the great. Also, flights paths into JFK are multiple so nothing is for sure. For example, at busy times your flight maybe sent out over Long Island and then take a left hand turn back to JFK in which case you would not get any view of the City.
