In the first place, it is not an international transaction because I bought this tix with SQ SFO reservation.

Why would you run your checking account balance so low that a simple foreign transaction fee would make it negative?
I've placed $ 7,500 on that checking account since I have multiple accounts and this is the one I usually use every day. Hence I thought 7,500 for my tix and my usual shopping would do nicely.

I never expected any transaction fees of more than $ 200 since again, this is not an international transaction.

Also why on earth are you using a debit card to pay for airline tickets in the first place?
Simple, because the one I own is connected to my dads and this tix is from all the money I've saved. I don't have any CCs beside the one my dad gave me, hence the use of debit card.
