I once tried to call the TG office to reserve seats for me shortly before the flight. I don't recall if it was earlier the same day of the flight or the day before. But they said it was too soon before the flight and they couldn't reserve the seats. So I'm always diligent now and reserve my seats at least several days before my flight, if not several weeks.
